Instructor Bio

Dr Mazlilah Abdul Malek graduated with a Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery and Bachelor of Obstetrics (MB BCh BAO) from the University College Dublin, National University of Ireland (UCD) in 2006. She completed her Master of Anaesthesiology & Critical Care from the National University of Malaysia (UKM) in 2015 and has received Certification of Completion of Training in Cardiothoracic Anaesthesia & Perfusion (Malaysia) in 2022 as well as Fellowship in Cardiac Anaesthesia & Critical Care (Southampton, United Kingdom) in 2021. She also holds a Bachelor of Science in Medical Subjects (Anatomy) from UCD in 2003.

Dr Mazlilah went to school at the prestigious Tunku Kurshiah College from 1994 to 1998. She then proceeded to study matriculation at the National University of Malaysia before taking up medicine at UCD.

Dr Mazlilah gained full registration with the Malaysian Medical Council and received her NSR in Anaesthesiology & Critical Care in 2007 & 2017 respectively. She is proficient in managing general anaesthesia & intensive care, as well as adult & paediatric cardiac anaesthesia cases including performing transoesophageal echocardiography and has special interest in paediatric cardiac anaesthesia. She is fully certified in Adult Transoesophageal Echocardiography by the European Association of Cardiovascular Imaging (EACVI) from 2023. She is currently a Consultant Cardiac Anaesthesiologist at the Department of Anaesthesiology and Critical Care, Serdang Hospital. She is also a visiting consultant at several hospitals, namely Princecourt Medical Centre, Sunway Medical Centre, Gleneagles Hospital Kota Kinabalu, iHeal Medical Centre, Avisena Specialist Hospital and Beacon Hospital.
