Discovering the Art and Science of Digital Smile Design

Dr Joan Lim is a leading aesthetic and restorative dental specialist and currently is the programme head for the Master of Orofacial Sciences program at MAHSA University. Through Ästhetisch Academy, Dr Joan brings a wealth of experience and expertise to the learners of this online course. Dr Joan received her Bachelor of Dental Surgery degree from the University of Malaya (UM) in 2008. She served as a dental officer in Malacca for 4 years and completed one year of internship in the Department of Periodontics in Malacca. She passed her diploma of membership into the Faculty of Dental Surgery at the Royal College of Surgeons Edinburgh, UK (MFDS RCS) in year 2012. In the same year 2012, Dr Joan pursued her postgraduate training in the Center of Esthetic and Restorative Dentistry in University of California, Los Angeles, America (UCLA, USA). She completed her two years full-time residency in UCLA in year 2014. With her interest in periodontics and implantology, Dr Joan had attended an advanced surgical implant training in Brazil and completed her advanced periodontal or plastic surgery and implant therapy course conducted by University of Michigan in the year 2016. Dr Joan is also the vice president of Malaysian Association of Aesthetic Dentistry (MAAD) as well as practicing as aesthetic dentist in several private dental clinics in the Klang Valley.
